ASHLEY MARCUS, PE

As a Chemical Engineer and registered Professional Engineer (SC, NC), Ashley Marcus brings more than 35 years of environmental experience including program management; process design; environmental consulting; and, risk assessment.  

 

Ashley's environmental compliance experience covers a wide range of industry sectors including agricultural, automotive, chemicals, glass, healthcare, institutional, metals, mining, oil and gas, packaging, pharmaceutical, plastics, power, pulp and paper, textiles, tires, wood products, and general manufacturing.  Some highlights of her environmental compliance experience are:

 

  • Preparing air, water and hazardous waste permit applications for new and existing facilities;

  • Identifying and quantifying facility emissions and discharges;

  • Completing air dispersion modeling;

  • Evaluating air and wastewater control technologies;

  • Providing environmental compliance assistance for facility start-ups.

  • Developing permit-required plans and recordkeeping algorithms;

  • Conducting site-specific environmental training;

  • Completing environmental reports;

  • Conducting site selection, due diligence and compliance audits;

  • Assisting with voluntary disclosures; 

  • Assisting with response to regulatory enforcement issues; and, 

  • Providing technical presentations for public meetings.

 

Ashley's risk assessment experience ranges from multi-media baseline risk assessments under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) to limited risk evaluations for a single medium such as indoor air.  She has conducted risk assessments under various programs including:

  • CERCLA - both Federal facilities and private industries across multiple regions

  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) - industrial facilities

  • Dry Cleaner and Underground Storage Programs - commercial and industrial facilities

  • Voluntary Cleanup Contracts - commercial and residential redevelopment projects. 

 

Risk assessment experience also includes expert support for legal cases.
